A beautiful brass leaf necklace, printed with a real skeleton leaf and finished with a recycled amethyst cabochon, reclaimed from an old piece of jewellery. The leaf is drawn and cut by hand then the whole item is oxidised and polished to leave a beautiful shine. Brass is an industry which relies on recycling metals, 90% of all brass is recycled. I have also used an offcut in this piece which saves new brass being created.
This large brass leaf pendant measures 5.2 cm (2.05") in length and 2 cm (0.79") at the widest point and comes with an 18" black faux suede cord finished with a brass wire hook and loop.
The word "amethyst" comes from the Greek word “amethystos” meaning “not drunk”. It was believed to prevent its wearers from intoxication. Amethysts contain quartz, which is often found lining the insides of geodes (rock cavities with internal crystal formations). It is said to bring calm, balance and peace.
This item is presented in a beautiful recycled pillow box or gift box with hemp twine, and is packaged safely in recyclable wrapping. It would make the perfect special gift for those who love leaf jewellery or someone born in February
